There are a number of websites that you can use to find formatting rules and guides for citing sources.
- Online Writing Lab @ Purdue University: This website provides formatting rules and example citations for both MLA and APA styles.

Citation Generators
Citation generators are tools that can create or format citations for you. While these can be useful, they often contain minor errors that you will need to be careful to correct yourself. One of the perks of using library database collections, is that most of them have a built-in tool for providing pre-generated citations for the sources found within them.
- Zotero.org: Zotero is a free tool for collecting and compiling citations for your research sources.
- Easybib.com: Easybib is a free tool for creating citations or checking your papers for signs of plagiarism.
- QuillBot.com: QuillBot is an AI-powered tool for creating citations.
Generative A.I. tools can suggest citations for your sources; however, you should be wary of their accuracy (just like with citation generators). Additionally, do not rely on these tools to find and cite sources for you. They are known to make up sources and provide non-working hyperlinks.
