Confitebor tibi Domine
I praise You, Lord, for though You were angry with me,
Your anger waned, and You comforted me.
Truly, God is my salvation;
I will trust and not be afraid.
The Lord Himself is my strength and my song,
and He has become my salvation.
With joy will you draw water
from the wells of salvation.
And you will say on that day,
“Give thanks to the Lord;
call on His name;
declare His deeds among the peoples,
declare that His name is exalted.
Sing to the Lord, for He has done marvelous things;
let this be known through the earth.
Cry out and shout for joy, you people of Zion,
for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.”
Lord Jesus Christ, Holy One of Israel, our strength, our song, and our salvation: Your anger is but for a moment, Your favor for a lifetime. Help us to trust and not be afraid, knowing that You are with us always, until the end of the age, for the sake of Your name which is exalted throughout the world. Amen.
