Benedic anima mea Domino
A Psalm of David.
All I am, bless the Lord;
everything about me, bless His holy name.
All I am, bless the Lord;
never forget all the good He has done.
He forgives all your iniquity;
He heals all your diseases.
He redeems your life from the Pit;
He crowns you with loyal love and compassion.
He satisfies you with good things
so your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
The Lord enacts vindication and justice for all oppressed.
The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abundant in loyal love.
He bears no grudge; His anger never lasts.
He has not dealt with us as our sins deserve,
nor requited us according to our iniquities.
As high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is His loyal love toward those who fear Him.
He knows how we are formed;
He remembers that we are dust.
Our days are like grass,
like a wildflower that blooms,
and when the wild blows over it,
is gone, remembered no more.
But the Lord’s loyal love is from everlasting to everlasting
on those who fear Him;
His covenant justice to their children’s children
who keep His covenant
and remember to observe His rules.
The Lord has established His throne in the heavens,
His sovereignty is over all.
Bless the Lord, you His angels
mighty in strength who perform His word,
who heed the voice of His word.
Bless the Lord, all His heavenly armies,
who serve at His command.
Bless the Lord, all His works,
in all of His domain.
All I am, bless the Lord.
Merciful and gracious Lord, You know our weakness; You remember that we are dust. Grant healing and wholeness to Your people, and vindication and justice for the oppressed, that we may bless Your holy name in peace, for the sake of Your loyal love in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
