In Domino confide
I have taken refuge in the Lord.
How dare you say, “Flee as a bird to your mountain,
for the wicked are bending their bows,
they’re setting their arrows on the string
to shoot from the shadows at the upright of heart!”
How dare you say, “If the foundations are destroyed,
what can the righteous do?”
The Lord is in His holy temple;
the Lord, whose throne is in heaven.
His eyes see; they observe the sons of Adam.
The Lord tests the upright and the wicked;
He despises those who love violence.
May He rain fiery coals and brimstone on the wicked;
may scorching wind be their allotted cup.
For the Lord is just; He loves covenant justice.
The upright will live before Him.
Mighty Lord, gracious Father, when the foundations of society are destroyed; when marriage, family, and truth are perverted, You are our refuge still; Your reign is everlasting. Give us courage to trust Your covenant justice in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
