Domine, Dominus noster
For the Chief Musician: according to the Gittith.
A Psalm of David.
Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth.
Your splendor spans the heavens.
By the mouth of babes and nursing infants
You have fixed a fortress in the face of Your foes,
to silence both foe and avenger.
When I look at Your heavens,
the work of Your fingers,
the moon and the stars which You set in place,
what is Man that You are mindful of Him,
the Son of Man that You care for Him?
You made Him a little less than the angels,
then crowned Him with glory and honor.
You gave Him dominion over the works of Your hands;
You put everything under His feet:
all sheep and oxen,
animals in the wild as well;
the birds of the air, the fish of the sea;
everything that lurks in the sea.
Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth.
Almighty Creator, in the Humiliation of Your Son You made Him less than the angels; and in His Exaltation crowned Him with glory and honor, submitting everything under His just and gracious rule. Grant that we may ever join the little children whose praises celebrate the splendors of Your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
