Domine, quid multiplicati
A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.
How numerous, Lord, are my foes,
so many rise against me;
so many say of me,
“God will not save him.” Selah
But You, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory and the lifter of my head.
I cried aloud to the Lord,
and He heard me from His holy mountain. Selah
I lay down and slept;
I woke, for the Lord sustains me.
I will not be afraid
though ten thousand surround and assail me.
Arise, Lord! My God, save me!
For You have slapped all my enemies on the cheek,
You have broken the teeth of the wicked.
Salvation belongs to the Lord;
may Your blessing be on Your people. Selah
Lord our God, King of the Universe, You are our shield and defense, even as You were for Your Son as He faced His holy Passion. Bless us in Him, and at the last, raise us to life with Him forever; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
