    Before We Teach

Lord of Truth, Whose wisdom spills over into our lives through Your Word, grant us Your blessing as we prepare to teach and serve. Season our words and our teaching with Your grace, that they may be effective for the growth and development of our students. Accomplish in our work what You desire. Lead and guide us in our vocations, that those who hear and learn may benefit and be enriched; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

God of wisdom and strength, You have blessed me with gifts of intellect, skill, and compassion. As I meet my students this day, grant me wisdom that my words might proclaim the truth and give glory to You. Help me always to see my students as souls created in your image and entrusted to my care. Open my ears to understand their needs and empower my teaching that they might grow in knowledge, wisdom, and faith in you, through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Blessed Lord, You came into the world as the Divine Light to illumine it through Your Truth and tender mercies. You entered the lives of people to teach, heal, and give everlasting hope through Your cross and empty tomb. Instill this same Divine hope in us through Your teaching. Send Your gift of grace to all who gather here today, that they may be encouraged and filled with joy in the work of educating. Bless our work as we rest in the cross of our Savior. Prepare, encourage, and strengthen us as we set about the task of teaching and helping students grow. Use us as a beacon of this Divine Light to inspire students to learn in preparation for their vocations. In all things, shower Your creation with your Divine goodness, that all may find in You an ever-present help and a holy consolation for our lives. In the name of the Father, and of the + Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

    Before A Meeting

O, Heavenly Father, the Giver of all that is good and holy, You bless the lives of Your faithful people with wisdom, insight, and discernment through the Gospel. As we gather for this meeting, fill us with Your holy virtues and reflection seasoned by Your grace. Guide our words, actions, and decisions, that we may glorify Your name, while bringing relief and help to others, that those we serve may experience the Divine love of Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

    At the Beginning of Class

O Jesus, Teacher and Shepherd of souls, You are the Word made flesh Who instructs in the ways of love and truth. Attend to us as we learn and grow in the classroom. Illuminate our lives with holy wisdom, that our discourse and instruction may equip us to love, serve, and aid those around us,through the Father and the Holy Spirit, Who with You are one God, now and forever. Amen.

    Prayer for Unity

O God our Father, Your Son Jesus prayed that we might be one, even as You and the Son are one. Grant us a spirit of charity and humility that, despite our differences, we may discern Your will and live together in harmony. By the power of the Spirit, unite us in decisions and actions that give glory to You and serve our community, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

    Prayer for Students

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Gal 5:22-23, ESV)

Heavenly Father, You created all things by your Holy Word. Please help my students today know that they are loved by You and made in your image, and that You have blessed them with wisdom, discernment, strength, and all the fruits of your Holy Spirit. Help your light shine through them today as they seek to do your will. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

    A Prayer for the Workday

O Lord, grant that I may meet all that this coming day brings with spiritual tranquility. Grant that I may fully surrender myself to Your Holy Will. At every hour, direct and support me in all things so that regardless of what comes my way, You will teach me to accept it with a calm soul and the firm conviction that all are subject to Your Holy Will. Direct my thoughts and feelings in all my words and actions. In all expected or unexpected occurrences, help me remember that You have sent everything my way and promise to watch over me continually. O Lord, grant me the strength to embrace the coming day by following your example of grace and wisdom. Grant that I may deal straightforwardly and with love for every person I meet today, neither embarrassing nor saddening them. Direct my will, teach me to pray, and help me remember that I am Your child. Amen.

    Prayer for Spiritual Illumination

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. (Matt 5:16, ESV)

Heavenly Father, you are the source of all goodness. Shine your light on me today through your Holy Spirit, that I may share the love of Christ with all whom I encounter today. Give me strength to endure difficult situations, help me model patience in moments of stress, and grant me wisdom to discern your will in all things. I pray this all in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and forever. Amen.

    Prayer for Humility

He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? (Mic 6:8, ESV)

Father in Heaven, I thank you for your Word, and that you have given me all I need to be the hands and feet of your Son, Jesus Christ, who died on a cross so that I might live as love and hope in a dark world. Forgive me for sometimes trying to do things all on my own. Help me tune out the many voices around me, and strive to tune in to Yours first, seeing others as more important than myself, and walk in humility with You; in Jesus’ Holy Name I pray. Amen.

Prayer When Facing a Difficult Decision

God of grace and wisdom, whose love is perfect and eternal, speak to me through Your Spirit in this difficult time. Give me wisdom to discern Your will. As I weigh the alternatives, lead me to a decision that not only glorifies You but also serves my neighbor. Calm the fears that might produce paralysis or indecision. Be my strength and encouragement, no matter what the outcome of this decision. I ask these things, trusting in Your mercy, through Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer in A Time of Uncertainty

Lord, I look to you! My heart is troubled. I find myself in a place of fear and uncertainty. Nevertheless, in all my troubles, Lord, I will put my trust in you. You are the Maker of heaven and earth; nothing is too big for you. Lord, I am confident that you care for me and You watch over my coming and going. I lift my prayers to you putting my trust in you. My soul will rest in your faithfulness I will look and find your help in this time of need.
