Chad Kendall
Associate Vice President for Church Relations and Mission
Associate Professor of Theology
Supervisor of the Office of Church Relations
Dr. Kendall serves as associate vice president for church relations and mission and is the mission officer of the university. He developed a faculty mission and identity course and continues to assist faculty and staff to engage in discourse and reflection around the university's mission and identity. He works with faculty to develop case studies and lectures around Christian ethics that are included in courses and programs. Dr. Kendall travels around the nation to speak, teach, and foster relationships with the university. In addition, he l works in advancement and assists in donor cultivation. Dr. Kendall is associate professor of theology and has taught masters courses and various theology courses.

Karen Calendo, DBA
Associate Professor and Chair of Healthcare Administration
She teaches many of the core courses offered in this program within the College of Business. She currently teaches in the ADP Health Care Management program as well as organizational management courses. She joined Concordia University Chicago in 2018 after 15 years of administering community-based mental health programs. Dr. Calendo's areas of expertise include; health care management, program development & implementation, health care marketing, grant writing, coalition building, and community health education.
Prior to serving at Concordia University-Chicago, Dr. Calendo was an Associate Director and Associate Instructor for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. As well as the Founder of the UW- Milwaukee Entrepreneurship Veterans Readiness and Support program.
Meghan Sleezer,PhD
Associate Professor
Chair of the Mathematics Department
Dr. Meghan Sleezer teaches Elementary and Middle School Math Content and Methods as well as other general math courses in the Colleges of Education and Health, Science, and Technology. She is also the organist and music director at Immanuel Lutheran Elmhurst.
David Rogner, PhD
Distinguished Professor of English
Editor of Motif
Literature II, Writing Poetry, Twentieth Century Poetry, Shakespeare, Introduction to Honors: Critical Thinking, and Writing About Literature.
Dr. Rogner areas of expertise include British romanticism, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, 19th and 20th century poetry, hymnody, and the intersection of Christian art and poetry.Dr. Rogner is also the editor of Motif, Concordia-Chicago’s literary and creative arts journal. He has been a member of Concordia’s faculty since 1986.
Mary Zaharis PhD
Associate Professor
Assistant Dean of Graduate and Doctoral Programs - College of Education
Dr. Mary Zaharis earned her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership with a Superintendent endorsement from Concordia University Chicago and brings over 25 years of experience in education, including 16 years as a school leader in both public and private schools.
She currently serves as Assistant Dean in the College of Education at Concordia University Chicago, where she teaches in the masters and doctoral programs, chairs dissertations, leads advanced licensure programs, and provides leadership for CAEP and SPA accreditation. Her work is driven by a commitment to preparing future school leaders by advancing CUC's mission through a leadership framework grounded in integrity, competence, and servant leadership. A key focus of her work is mentoring aspiring leaders to discern their vocational calling of leadership to serve others.
