Modern gaming platforms, including powerful consoles like PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch, as well as PC and mobile gaming, were discussed. The integration of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) is revolutionizing the gaming industry, offering immersive and interactive experiences.
Additionally, the chapter highlighted the future of interaction design, focusing on innovations in UI/UX design. Key trends such as voice user interfaces (VUIs), AI-driven personalization, and adaptive interfaces are poised to reshape user engagement with digital products. The importance of accessibility, sustainable design, and data-driven design practices in creating inclusive and user-centric digital experiences was emphasized.
Finally, the shift towards a digital-only gaming future was discussed, reflecting broader trends in media consumption and technological advancements. As digital gaming becomes more prevalent, the convenience of digital media, coupled with the need for preservation and long-term access to content, continues to shape the industry.
