Jargon is useful because it helps us communicate very specifically about what we are accomplishing as we research; it's what experts use and for good reason. The problem with jargon is that until you learn it, jargon can be alienating to new learners.
We're going to take a moment to learn some basic vocabulary so that going forward, you can not only "walk the walk" but "talk the talk" of library research. You can expect to see new vocabulary at the start of most weeks from here on out. This list will reappear and grow in later weeks to help you review. Read it once, then use it as a reference when you need it. :-)
