Once you have the source, use the attached CRAAP rubric to evaluate the source, give it a score and explain your reasoning. Finally, give a BRIEF summary regarding the information in the source you will be using. Most library databases will create the citations for you or you can use sites like easybib.com or review the guidelines at OWL Purdue website, https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/
The Assignment
Identify two sources to help you write your tribute speech. You will need to provide the MLA or APA citation for each source. Do make sure to include the URL, if available. I will check every source to make sure it is credible.
You want to get different types of sources. Perhaps your person has written a book or a magazine article. That is one type of source but you should also include a different type of source, such as a website or newspaper article. Do have a mix. Try to avoid only having websites.
After you list the first source and citation, grade your source using the rubric. Is it current? Written by a credible author? Unbiased? Accurate? Review the rubric, grade your source and then share the total score the source received. If the source receives under a ten, you can use the source for the purposes of this assignment but you will want to identify another source for the actual speech.
Finally, include a brief summary of the information you will use from the source. Do keep all the information together. Don’t list the citations, then the CRAAP score, then the summaries.
