We’ve discussed ethics and ethical behavior throughout this text, from information organization and classification systems to citing sources, to social media, to censorship, to AI and more, because it is vital to creating a world that we all want to live in. As UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) observes, “information ethics cover the ethical, legal and societal aspects of the applications of ICT [(information and communication technologies)] and are derived from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights” (UNESCO).
