    Assessment

    • Step One: Select inspiration
      • Consider a variety of logos tied to different companies
      • Select one for its shape, colors, symbolism, or whatever other criteria are important to you.
    • Step Two: Design
      • Design a garment (the type of garment is up to you: shirt, dress, socks, hat, etc.) inspired by the logo or that incorporates this logo. Design something you think could be fashionable (according to your own sense of what 'fashionable' means); you are not designing an employee uniform.
    • Step Three: Think through your decisions
      • What individuals or groups of people do you envision as potential customers for this garment?
      • Why did you choose this particular logo or emblem as your inspiration?
      • Why did you choose to incorporate it into this particular type of garment?
      • Were you aiming to create a garment that matched the vibe of the original logo or that created tension with that original?
      • Why did you make the choices you did about how to incorporate the logo?
        • Did you keep it the same colors or modify the color palette?
        • Did you keep the logo intact or modify it some way? (If you made a modification, will its original reference still be discernible to viewers?)
        • What scale did you pick for the logo, and did you include the logo just once or multiple times?
        • Where on the garment did you place the logo or the design elements inspired by that logo?
      • What else did you do and why?
    • Step Four: Explain
      • Write two paragraphs (of 5-7 sentences each) to explain your choices and what you think the impact of those choices on the wearer and other viewers' responses is likely to be.
      • Address at least four of the questions listed in step 3, but feel free to elaborate beyond the suggestions offered here.
