- Step One: Select inspiration
- Consider a variety of logos tied to different companies
- Select one for its shape, colors, symbolism, or whatever other criteria are important to you.
- Step Two: Design
- Design a garment (the type of garment is up to you: shirt, dress, socks, hat, etc.) inspired by the logo or that incorporates this logo. Design something you think could be fashionable (according to your own sense of what 'fashionable' means); you are not designing an employee uniform.
- You may sketch by hand or digitally; you may use a stencil or template for the shape of the garment or design the shape of yours completely from scratch.

- What individuals or groups of people do you envision as potential customers for this garment?
- Why did you choose this particular logo or emblem as your inspiration?
- Why did you choose to incorporate it into this particular type of garment?
- Were you aiming to create a garment that matched the vibe of the original logo or that created tension with that original?
- Why did you make the choices you did about how to incorporate the logo?
- Did you keep it the same colors or modify the color palette?
- Did you keep the logo intact or modify it some way? (If you made a modification, will its original reference still be discernible to viewers?)
- What scale did you pick for the logo, and did you include the logo just once or multiple times?
- Where on the garment did you place the logo or the design elements inspired by that logo?
- What else did you do and why?
- Step Four: Explain
- Write two paragraphs (of 5-7 sentences each) to explain your choices and what you think the impact of those choices on the wearer and other viewers' responses is likely to be.
- Address at least four of the questions listed in step 3, but feel free to elaborate beyond the suggestions offered here.
