    Assignments

    Reflection:

How easy or difficult was it to write a bio that was interesting? Do you think you could write two more bios? Why or why not?

    Definition: Portfolio

For a class assignment, collect your best work from each type of writing that you did in the previous modules. Create a portfolio.

The writing portfolio will consist of a cover letter, 1 poem, the final draft of your short story, and the final draft of your play.

The Portfolio will be evaluated using the following methods.

Cover Letter: This document is important because it helps the instructor and reader understand the goals for your writing. You should discuss each piece of writing, why you chose to write what you did, and what steps you took to revise your writing.

Poem: The poem should make sense for what they are. This should be explained in the cover letter. I will be looking for some type of theme or convention.

Short Story: The story should feel complete, have conflict and use description as well as figurative language. It should be clear of grammatical and mechanical errors.

Play: The play should be written to be performed using the playwriting format. The characters should be distinct. The play should tell a story and have conflict. The dialogue should be as authentic to the character as possible.
