    Activity

Option 1: Take the short story you are working on and turn it into a genre focused story. Sometimes revising or rewriting a story in another way helps you learn more about your characters or your story. It is a good way to explore it more. If you don’t like the route that it takes, you don’t have to use the rewrite.

Option 2: Create a new short story by choosing one of the genres you learned about in this lesson. Pay close attention to how the expectations of the genre impacts how you create the story.

Once your story is complete into a full draft, reflect on how the genre helped or hindered your writing.
