In class, write a paragraph about your previous experiences in engaging in the writing process, including revisions, and what you think. Be honest—your grades for that course have already been finalized, and no one is judging you here. Did you previously engage in all or part of the process outlined above? Or did you typically only do one draft—the final draft—hours before the assignment was due? Reflect on how you felt engaging the process as you previously have, how it differs from or is the same as what’s outlined here, and how you feel about engaging in the prescribed process. Again, honesty is key here. If the process sounds like “too much,” say it, or if this is what you’ve always done and you have no concerns, say that.
