Although mainstream hip hop music and entertainment are male-dominated, women have been a part of hip hop culture from its' inception and continue to play a major role the culture today. Unfortunately, women have had to continously overcome rampant mysogyny, sexism, and unfair treatment as both artists and executives. The story of women in hip hop is one of pioneering, advocacy, perseverance, and displaying amazing talent.
This module will:

- Discuss the role women continue to play in hip hop culture
