Talley Caruso, M.A. TESOL
Talley Caruso, M.A. TESOL, teaches ESL at Chabot College, Ohlone College, and UC Berkeley, and also volunteers at the Hayward Public Library supporting immigrant learners. She has worked on grant-funded projects that help English learners succeed across disciplines, including Healthcare Pathways for English Language Learners.
Before becoming a teacher, Talley led global initiatives at Fortune 500 companies, shaping her commitment to team success by building trust, fostering collaboration across cultures, and guiding diverse teams with clear communication and practical skills.
Committed to Open Educational Resources (OERs), she piloted parts of this textbook in her Advanced Reading and Composition course at Chabot College before developing it into a flexible resource for instructors across disciplines. She is also the author of Digital ESL, an OER recognized by the British Council, and encourages instructors to adapt and remix this textbook to best serve their students.
