Pronombres que se emplean después de preposición

    persona singular plural
    primera

    segunda

    tercera
    para mí

    sin ti - sin vos
    a usted

    con él
    por ella
    de nosotros/as

    hacia vosotros/as

    • Note that, with the exception of mí and ti (no accent mark), prepositional pronouns are identical to the subject pronouns (§6):
This message is for me, not for you.
    We're talking about us.
He refused to go out with her.

    • Después de entre y según no se usan mí y ti, sino tú y yo:
Este secreto es entre tú y yo.
Todo siempre es perfecto, según tú.

    • After entre and según, use tú and yo (not mí and ti):
This secret is between me and you.
Everything is always perfect, according to you.

    • Con + mí = conmigo. Con + ti = contigo:
    Estás viviendo conmigo.
    ¿No quisieron ir contigo?

    • Con followed by mí or ti forms conmigo and contigo:
    You're living with me.
Did they refuse to go with you?

    • La forma reflexiva después de preposición es sí, que se refiere al sujeto (ver también §Construcciones reflexivas). Con + sí = consigo.
    Están luchando entre sí.
    Hablaba consigo (con él mismo).

    • The reflexive form after prepositions is sí, referring back to the subject (see also §Construcciones reflexivas). Con followed by sí forms consigo.
    They're fighting among themselves.
    He was talking to himself.

♦ After a preposition, the English pronoun "it" can be expressed by eso when it refers to an idea, and by él or ella when referring to a specific object or animal whose gender is clear:
Quería hablar con usted sobre eso. (about it)
Necesita su sombrero: no puede salir sin él. (without it)
⇒ never use lo or la as pronouns after a preposition.

    ¡A practicar!
