Preparación comunicativa 2: Fechas personales
Paso 1. Ya hablamos (we already talked about) de los cumpleaños en Unidad 2.5, pero ahora hablamos del año del nacimiento (birth year). Brainstorm a list of family members (including your own) and write their birth year. Practice saying the years out loud a few times.

Paso 2. Ahora habla con 3 compañeros de clase. Talk to at least 3 different classmates. Take turns asking and answering questions. Make sure to write down the years mentioned and verify with your partner that they are correct!
Nota: We haven't learned how to talk in the past tense yet, so use the following model to help you:

Remember Mariana? We met her in Unidad 1. She has decided to attend your college, and she needs help preparing her budget. You want to give her an idea of the prices of things in your town.
Paso 1. Tell Mariana how much the following things cost. Prepara los números en español para su presupuesto (budget).

En esta actividad trabaja con cuatro compañeros. You are going to find out how much it costs for a university student to study in your state. You and your partners will choose four different universities in the state. One of them should be your own institution.
Paso 1. Choose the institutions on which you want to focus. Distribute them among the members of the group.
Paso 2. Visit the universities’ pages, and fill out the following table. Write the cost of each of the categories given. Each person should be responsible for one institution.
