Cultura
La Universidad. Pick a Spanish-speaking country you would like to learn more about. Using the internet, or other sources, research a university in that country. Then, write a paragraph. You can include information about its history, its programs, its costs, or anything else you would like to compare and contrast to your own experiences.
Otra perspectiva. Speak to a native Spanish speaker and ask him or her about his or her experiences going to school. How are they alike and how are they different than yours? Write a short paragraph about what you learn. In your paragraph, include at least one sentence that has the five components necessary for the subjunctive, and include the present subjunctive in this sentence.
Otra perspectiva. Using the internet or other sources, write about the education system in a Spanish-speaking country. For example, do all children automatically go to school there? Is it harder or easier to get into a college in that country? Do the students wear uniforms? How long do they go to school each day? What are the requirements to get into college there? How much does it cost to attend college there? Can students work and go to school, or do they have to choose one or the other?

Do an internet search about a university in a Spanish-speaking country. Where are the oldest universities in the Spanish-speaking world?
Think about a country you would like to visit. Does it have a Spanish language school you could attend? What would be the cost to attend? How long would you be in class each day? Does the program offer cultural excursions?
