Rehearsals are where the true development of your play takes place. In rehearsals, you will find that things that sounded great in a reading fall flat once on stage, or that elements that were vague in the writing play out better on stage when a director and actors can help them develop. All in all, you have to give your all to the performance and make it the best it can possibly be and then put it in front of an audience for judgement. Your goal is to create a great story, not to be praised. Use the audience reactions as a guide to see what resonates and what falls flat, then improve.
