Angela Carter is one of my favorite writers of all time, and while I love her fairy tale rewrites, this story, from one of her earlier anthologies, just disturbs me. I’m not sure how I feel about it, and hopefully it elicits the same discomfort for you so we’ll have a good discussion about it. . . and who doesn’t like a good creepy circus story with a puppetmaster?
