La palabra "Ayacucho" deriva del idioma quechua y significa "Rincón del Alma". Ayacucho fue ocupada por los Incas desde el Siglo XV, y luego invadida y conquistada por los españoles en 1532. En la actualidad tiene 152.000 habitantes, y es una ciudad famosa por sus museos arqueológicos y su arquitectura colonial. El idioma oficial de Perú es español, pero mucha de la población de las zonas andinas también habla quechua, la lengua original.

- Renata mezcla ritmos modernos (como el rock, el pop, el hip hop) con el folklore andino y canta en quechua para llegar a los jóvenes e inspirarlos a que hablen su lengua original. Propongan otras formas/posibilidades para revitalizar y preservar una lengua ancestral.
