  • As you may recall, direct objects are the recipient of the action of a transitive verb. “The cat (subject) saw (transitive verb) the bird (direct object).” And we have seen how to turn both subjects and third-person direct objects into pronouns: “The cat? I saw it.” But what if the cat sees me? In this section, we’ll learn the rest of the direct object pronouns.
