In this issue, you’ll read and hear stories and songs highlighting salient events of people’s lifetimes.
Two important aspects in PLUMA’s learning program are:
- to use inductive reasoning while you read and listen so you can pick out communicative patterns.
- to expose yourself to a lot of authentic input to acquire the language.
These two activities are perhaps even more important when learning how to recount stories in the past, so it is essential that you read, reread, listen and listen again to the stories, songs and videos in this PLUMA and allow the repetition to do its pedagogical magic of getting learners used to seeing, hearing and eventually communicating in the past in Spanish.
As you read and listen, be thinking about which events in your own past you would highlight in a story and which ones others typically share about their lifetimes.
