Muchos pueblos y ciudades tienen un patrón o una patrona que son santos y santas o denominaciones complementarias de Cristo o de la Virgen María. Las localidades celebran fiestas en honor a su patrón o patrona y se llaman fiestas patronales.
En Pamplona España, los sanfermines, que son las fiestas patronales de san Fermín, se celebran en julio y son muy famosas porque se celebran de una manera muy peligrosa: muchas personas, la mayoría hombres, corren con toros por las calles de Pamplona. Pablo viene de una familia católica, pero no es por eso que a los veintiséis años decide visitar Pamplona. Va en camino a visitar a su hermana que vive ahora en París. El tren de Madrid a París pasa por Donostia-San Sebastián, una ciudad preciosa en el norte de España donde Pablo puede disfrutar las bonitas playas, pero también puede visitar Pamplona porque está a sólo una hora al sur de San Sebastián. En Pamplona puede ver el espectáculo loco en las calles.
