    Bleu Jeans Bleu est un groupe de musique québécois. Le groupe a été formé en 2012 par Mathieu Lafontaine en tant que projet pour enregistrer et interpréter une version comique de musique country. Tous les membres se produisent sous des noms de scène dérivés de marques de jeans en denim. Ils sortent les albums Haute Couture en 2013 et Franchement wow en 2016.

    “Le king de la danse en ligne” est un projet multimédia qui était créé pendant la pandémie. La chanson est un hommage à la danse en ligne, qui est un style de danse populaire où les danseurs exécutent des pas synchronisés dans des lignes ou des rangées. C’est aussi un jeu sur les mots “en ligne” qui signifie ‘sur internet’, un endroit social populaire pendant la Covid. Le groupe a demandé à ses fans d'envoyer des vidéos d'eux en train de danser pour les inclure dans leur vidéo musicale officielle. Plus de 780 personnes ont envoyé des soumissions !

    The first scene is of a girl holding a picture of a rainbow that says “Ça va ben aller.” Given the context that this video was shot during Covid, what do you think the sign is for and what does the expression mean?

    What images / backgrounds / cultural objects / languages / landscapes, etc., do you see in the clip that lets you know the people being filmed are in Canada? Explain.

    “Le soir de l’âge d’or” is a special night of programming for older people. What do you think the singer means when he says “il y avait plus de Yolande que de Stéphanie” in his dance class? What does that tell you about naming trends in French-speaking Canada? How would you translate this joke into a language you know well?

    What was the outcome of the singer participating in his dance class? Did he find what he was looking for? Did he learn other skills? How is this illustrated in the clip?

    Many people made dance TikToks during the pandemic to engage and interact with people they could not be in physical contact with due to quarantine restrictions. Did you or anyone you know participate in this trend on TikTok or other platforms? Which dance challenges did you/they complete?

    Reflect on the different landscapes, climates, corners of Canada you observed in this collection of clips. Which ones intrigued you the most? Which parts of Canada would you be interested in visiting based on what you’ve seen? Why?

    Option 1: Tiktokkeur / tiktokkeuse

    Film you / you and your classmates dancing to part of “Le king de la danse en ligne” and record it. Share it with your teacher and the rest of your class. If you’re feeling brave, post it on social media!

    Option 2: Poète

    Compose an additional 4+-line verse in French to add to the song. Be sure to write it in the same style as the original song. Share your addition with your teacher and the rest of your class.
