The verb poursuivre (to pursue) also follows this pattern.

Michel ne conduit pas bien parce qu’il ne suit jamais les codes de la route. (Michel drives badly because he never follows the rules of the road.)

La police poursuit le suspect. (The police are pursuing the suspect.)

Note : suivre vs. être

— How do you know if Je suis means I am or I follow?

— Context !

— What about Je suis un homme ? Does it mean I am a man or I follow a man?

— Context !

— How about Je suis un homme qui aime la musique ? Am I a man who likes music? Or am I following a man who likes music?

— Well, if you don’t know by now, then you’re not paying attention to the context!

Some of these verbs can have different meanings in different contexts. For example, suivre un cours means to take a class. When conduire is reflexive (se conduire) it means to behave, like to conduct oneself in a certain manner in English.
