    Learning Objectives

In this section, you will be able to:

    • Read and understand texts related to daily routine activities
    • Write a description of your daily routine activities

    Reading 1:

Read the passage describing a day in Hani's daily routine and then answer the questions that follow.

    Query \(\PageIndex{2}\)

    Check Your Understanding

    • Read the text. Then answer the following questions in your notebook using complete sentences. Try to use the new vocabulary you learned in this lesson.

    • ما اسم صديق هاني الذي يدرس معه في مكتبة الجامعة؟
    • كم ساعة تقريبًا يقضي هاني في الجامعة حسب النص؟
    • ماذا يحب هاني أن يشرب في الصباح وبعد محاضرة اللغة الإسبانية؟
    • هل برنامجك اليومي يشبه برنامج هاني؟ كيف؟
    • Work with a partner. Have a short conversation in Arabic about your daily routine.

      • Student A: Ask your partner: “What time do you wake up? What do you do after breakfast?”

      • Student B: Answer in Arabic. Then ask: “When do you study? Do you go to a café or library?”

      • Switch roles.

    • Write a series of short messages to your penpal in Qatar.

      • Describe your daily routine: what you do in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

      • Explain how you spend your free time.

      • Ask your penpal to describe their daily routine too.

      • Then compare your routines to learn more about each other’s cultures.

    • Use this opportunity to compare and contrast your lifestyles and learn more about each other's cultures.

    Reading 2:

Read the passage describing a day in Salma's daily routine and then answer the questions that follow.

    Query \(\PageIndex{1}\)

    Query \(\PageIndex{2}\)

    Check Your Understanding

      Draw a Venn diagram.

      • Write Hani’s unique activities on one side.

      • Write Salma’s unique activities on the other side.

      • Write the shared activities in the center.

      • Then discuss these similarities and differences with a partner.

    • Search the internet for a video featuring an Arab character talking about their daily routine.

      • Watch and take notes on their activities.

      • Then write a short paragraph describing their routine and your thoughts about it.
