Mona, who is studying in New York in the United States, is writing an email to her parents
مَرحَبًا وَالِدِي وَوَالِدَتِي
كَيْفَ حَالُكُم؟ كَيْفَ حَالُ أَخِي أَيَّاد وَأُخْتِي نَدَى؟
هَذَا التَّقْوِيمُ الدِّرَاسِيُّ السَّنَوِيُّ لِجَامِعَتِي. يَبْدَأُ الفَصْلُ فِي الْخَرِيفِ مِنْ شَهْرِ أُغُسْطُس إِلَى شَهْرِ دِيسَمْبَر. ثُمَّ تَبْدَأُ الْعُطْلَةُ الشَّتَويَّة. وَيَبْدَأُ الْفَصْلُ الدِّرَاسِيُّ فِي الرَّبِيعِ مِنْ شَهْرِ يَنَايِر إِلَى شَهْرِ مَايُو وعُطْلَةُ الرَّبِيعِ فِي شَهْرِ مَارِس. أَنَا أَدْرُسُ مَعَ صَدِيقَتِي مَهَا فِي عُطْلَةِ نِهَايَة الأُسْبُوع. وَالِدُ مَهَا مَغْرِبِيٌّ وَأُمُّها أَمْرِيكِيَّةٌ. تُسَافِرُ مَهَا إِلَى الْمَغْرِبِ فِي فَصْلِ الصَّيْف بِسَبَبِ الطَّقْس، وَلَهَا أَقَارِبٌ كَثِيرُون فِي مَدِينَةِ فَاس. هِيَ تَتَكَلَّمُ اللُّغَةَ الإِنْجِلِيزِيَّة وَاللُّغَةَ العَرَبِيَّة أَحْيَانًا. وَتَتَكَلَّمُ اللُّغَةَ الإِسْبَانِيَّةَ أَيْضًا

Choose one Arab country, then write a short entry in your journal about the summer season in that country for the whole week. Make sure to share your writing with your classmates. Use the seasonal vocabulary that you have learned so far.
