1. Conexión. Encuentra la correspondencia en inglés para las expresiones presentadas.

2. Oraciones. Completa las oraciones siguientes con una de las expresiones de arriba para especificar el tiempo. No repitas ninguna expresión y ten en cuenta que algunas expresiones son sinónimas.
a. Los cambios en la sociedad no tienen lugar …Es necesario absorber las ideas y las inquietudes de nuevos grupos que surgen…
b. La identidad latina … está caracterizada por la diversidad y multiculturalidad.
c. Tal vez …los estadounidenses valoren más la parte positiva y las aportaciones de los hispanos.
d. …diez años que mi familia y yo llegamos a los Estados Unidos. Somos ciudadanos integrados y … conservamos nuestra latinidad.
e. …los políticos dirigen sus discursos a la población latina. Los censos muestran que …esta población está creciendo en número y protagonismo.
f. La comunidad latina ayuda a las nuevas familias hispanas … llegan. Ofrecen su ayuda inmediatamente.
3. En una conversación con un compañero. Utiliza las expresiones temporales para responder sus preguntas.
a. ¿Cuándo debo solicitar permiso de trabajo en los Estados Unidos?
b. No sé hablar inglés. ¿Es muy difícil aprenderlo en poco tiempo?
c. ¿Qué crees que debo hacer para sentirme integrado/a?
d. ¿Piensas que es posible conservar mi cultura y asimilarme simultáneamente?
e. ¿Cuánto tiempo llevas en este país?
f. ¿Hace cuánto tiempo llevan aquí tus antepasados?
4. Imagina. Eres un hispano integrado en la sociedad estadounidense que va a contar su experiencia de integración y asimilación. Escribe un párrafo en el que narras la experiencia. Utiliza por lo menos cuatro de las expresiones temporales.
